N O T T I N G H A M

Going this weekend?
Yes
Where?
Nottingham
Why? I thought it was impossible for you to choose a place worse than Birmingham, but you did!

I don’t know why people think this way about cities as Nottingham, Birmingham or Bristol. All cities of the world have something. You just have to look it! Of course do this in Nottingham is more complicated than do it in places as Edinburgh or London but still possible. A big point is that you don't need more than two days to spend in Nottingham, so you can go for a weekend and come back with the feeling that you have made good use of your time. Can you imagine visit London for one and a half day? Probably you'd try to see too many places to finally feel overwhelmed and frustrated and leave London with the feeling of not have seen nothing and have wasted your time.

Anyway, ¿What can Nottingham offer us?  Legend. If there is an obligation in Nottingham, this is: Robin Hood Town Tour (Trip Advisor 'CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE 2013' Winner !!). The best 3 hours that you can spend there. And probably the best 10 pounds that you can spend in a tour. You will be transported during these three hours through from the 13th century onwards. By the hand of a real Robin Hood (believe me!) you will discover more about his legend and if he was real. Now I could tell you if I believe or not in Robin Hood. But I won’t. You must discover it by yourself.

Nottingham has 4 obligated pubs. The first three (The Bell Inn, Ye Olde Salutation Inn and Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem) have disputed the fight for the title "England's Oldest Pub", which finally won Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem. The fourth is Pitcher&Piano, a church converted into a bar. The best time to go is at lunch time when the pianist is playing the piano. Through acoustic you can listen the piano as you have never done.

You can find some interesting museums in Nottingham. But I can just tell you about the Nottingham Contemporary,  if you really like Contemporary Art (I don’t) you must go. If you plan to visit the city for two days you can also spend one at Wollaton Park.  And If you are a lover of architecture you will find different architectural styles with buildings dating from the 1100s.

True, have gone to Nottingham was something improvised and at first accepted with resignation but never a mistake.

Next Stop: Bristol 25th-26th May - Yeahh!
